Rdlc Export To Pdf Landscape

96

In reporting server you have the option to export your reports to PDF format. By default your reports are generated in the portrait format. When building your report the body will automaitically resized when you add report items which did not fit.

After deploying your report, it renders correct in your browser. However after exporting the report you see that the report is exported in the portrait format. This is not nice and generated extra pages. This can be avoided to export the PDF in landscape format. To export your reports to PDF format in landscape format, you need to do the following: Retrieve the properties of your report. (Right mouse click, just outside the body of the report). I am having issues exporting my report to.pdf. It is inserting a blank page in between pages.

Looks fine in the SSRS report on screen. I tried the suggestions above re: making sure that the body is equal to or less than the width of the page and I am still getting the issue. I am using Report Builder 3.0. My application is running on Chrome. My report is in landscape mode. Paper size is legal.

The report is designed for the landscape orientation. In the rdlc file, the width is set to 11in and the height is set to 8.5in. When I export the file using the pdf format, it always uses the portrait orientation and thus cuts the main report table.

Report width is 27.94 cm. I modified and made sure my body was less than that - at 27.85 in width. Should be good, no? What am I missing?? Report is 3 pages long but yet I am getting 6.

Our old reporting server is running SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services. Our new reporting server is running SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services.

On our old server we have the following export options: On our new server we have these options: We would like to have PDF in Landscape but have no idea on how to get that implemented. I've wrestled with a RSReportServer.Config with no luck after restarting services. I did find out, by digging pretty deep, that those options are hard coded int the.ASPX file. I don't want to have to monkey with that.

There has to be a more straightforward, 'legit' way to fix this. Has anyone been able to add that feature to the new dropdown? Hi Cowski, In Reporting Services, the orientation mode of a report is determined by the page height and page width settings of the report.

To achieve your goal, you can customize the device information settings for the PDF rendering extension in the RSreportserver.config file. Besides, you need to add an extra entry for the PDF rendering extension. They should be like: PDF in Landscape Mode PDF 8.5in 11in PDF in Portait Mode PDF 11in 8.5in References: (a sample available in the end of the article) Regards, Mike Yin TechNet Community Support. Hi Cowski, There is no need to restart IIS because Reporting Services doesn’t depend on IIS since SQL Server 2008.

Please restart the Reporting Services service through the Reporting Services Configuration Manager and check the issue again. Besides, please note that there is no slash in the end of the “Type” configuration: And, there is an extra tag in the end of each PDF rendering extension entry.
