PSpice Download Instrumentation Studio -- PSpice Download Last Updated 28-Aug-2016 There are several options for downloading the circuit simulation software we use. • To obtain the most up-to-date version of the software (17.2), go to the on the Cadence website and download the OrCAD PSpice / PCB Designer Lite 17.2 (Capture & PSpice only). Note that you will be asked to provide your name and some other information and they will send you a confirming email. This message will likely be blocked by RESPITE, so be sure you check RESPITE if you do not receive the messsage. The latest version works very well in Windows 10 but only on 64 bit machines. On the same page you will find version 16.6 for 32 bit machines.
• An earlier version (16.0 or 16.5) may be useful if you have problems with the new one. • There is an old student version of PSpice (9.1), that is much smaller than the newest version.
It does everything we need, but looks a little different. There are two choices to use 9.1 • The original version of this program works well on Windows XP but only sometimes works on Windows 7.. It apparently works with Windows 8, at least that has been the experience of students at Virginia Tech.
• There is also a virtual application of the old and significantly smaller PSpice Student Version 9.1, created by Branden McKagen, Computer Systems Engineer at Virginia Tech. There is a help page for PSpice at which explains how to use the virtual version and also has some useful information on PSpice in general.
You can download this version. NOTE: Once you have the software running, you will have to add libraries to have access to parts for your circuit. The add libraries button is next to the red X at the top of the libraries window. Wireshark Filter Program Name there. Usually, when you click this, you will see a subdirectory called PSpice. Open it and add all the libaries it contains. This is explained further in the Experiment 1 write-up.
