We gave them each the same tools so as to be fair to all, Magician Chassis - DG007 was fully equipped with all they need to start making the base of their soccer robot. We also provided them with Annikken Andee, companion board, Arduino proto shield, Annikken Andee Starter Kit and a pair of chopsticks for their extended arm.
They had to learn Arduino from our. Using the lessons on our website they are able to create functional interfaces to take control of their soccer robots. With lessons on how to create customise and, all they need was an idea on how to grab the ball and dribble toward the goal. Lesson 13: You can find this lesson and more in the Arduino IDE (File ->Examples ->Andee). If you are unable to find them, you will need to install the Andee Library for Arduino IDE. In this lesson, I'll show you the various ways to control a servo using buttons!
We'll create 3 buttons. Scilab Read Serial Scanner here. One to make it slowly turn left, the other to make it slowly turn right.
And the third one to quickly turn to a user-specified position. We'll also create one display box to tell us about the servo's current position. Lesson 18: Using Sliders to Control Servos You can find this lesson and more in the Arduino IDE (File ->Examples ->Andee). Team 67 The HOT (Heroes of Tomorrow) Team scooted into the semifinals, chosen by an alliance leader for its robot's precise kicker, among other skills. The secret to this control? A modified garage-door spring connects to both the kicker and the side of the robot. Because the spring isn't reliant on how much force it's going to apply, the team can program it using a potentiometer that brings a shifter back to specific settings after each kick. This way, the team always knows just how far the ball is going to go and, even better, they can control the specific distance of each kick. The team usually starts by kicking in the farthest zone from the goal in autonomous mode, then drives over one of the two large speed bumps to get midfield, then kicks again.
Without driver control, the bot can kick about four of the starting five balls into the home zone and sometimes two or three into a goal before students take over the reins. 'It really helps so the part of the team in the home zone can quickly get those balls into goals to score points at the start of the game,' senior Ryan Legato says. View Gallery 3 Photos.
