Ecmo Specialist Training Manual

Please use: Registration for this course is done via Thomas Jefferson University Institute of Emerging Health Professions, The Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation Program (ECMO) will train healthcare providers to perform the duties and responsibilities of an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) specialist. Using an evidence-based approach, the program will educate healthcare providers to perform the duties and responsibilities of ECMO management in a variety of clinical settings.

This 3-day course program will consist of lecture, didactic presentations and simulation training with case-based, hands-on workshops. Designed for Medical Professionals: Physicians, Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Perfusionists, interested in managing patients requiring ECMO therapy in the acute care setting. All faculty at continuing educating activities for nurses, physicians and allied health professionals are required to disclose to the audience: • Any significant financial relationships with the manufacturer(s) of any commercial products, goods or services • Any unlabeled/unapproved uses of drugs or devices discussed in their presentations.
