Builds that don’t have the right quality must not be promoted to the next pipeline phase by applying AI-driven quality gates. Builds or deployment changes in production that negatively impact end-user experience, resource consumption, or operational costs must be auto- remediated with actions such as scaling out, re-deploy, or rollbacks. In this hands-on, we will build a continuous delivery pipeline with automated AI-driven quality gates from CI through CD all the way into production. We will implement this using available cloud services from AWS (CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, Lambda, EC2) and Dynatrace. In this 101 session Mike Gibbons, Guardian Team Lead at Dynatrace, explains the concepts of tags in Dynatrace. We learn about how Dynatrace extracts metadata for every entity (host, process, container, service, application) and automatically applies tags for smarter monitoring, charting and alerting. We also learn about alternative concepts to tagging such as manual tagging or tagging via the REST API.
